My name is Gwen and I love visiting vineyards. There’s something so otherworldly about visiting a vineyard in England – it’s as though you’ve been transported to a far away land. Like, one minute you’re in rainy England, and the next, you’re frolicking amongst the vines.
My idea of a mini-break in the UK is to relax and enjoy good food, and of course wine. I’ve found 20 vineyards with accommodation in the UK, where you can do just that. From shepherds hut & glamping experiences, to deluxe hotels and all else in between. This selection of vineyards with accommodation can provide the ultimate in escapism, but whilst remaining in the UK.

Here’s a selection of fabulous vineyards with accommodation in Kent, Sussex & Surrey,
1/ Bradbourne Winery, Kent
Located in the beautiful Kent Downs, Bradbourne Vineyard is a beacon of family tradition and exceptional wine making. Renowned for its exquisite Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, this vineyard invites guests to embark on personalized tours.
Adding to the allure, visitors have the opportunity to stay in a charming holiday cottage located on the premises.
2/ Terlingham Lane Cottage, Terlingham Vineyard, Kent


Terlingham Lane Cottage is located on the grounds or family run, boutique winery, Terlingham Vineyard. Close to the fun seaside town of Folkestone, Terlingham Vineyard offers relaxed tours and tastings of their fabulous English wines.
The cottage itself sleeps four, in two generous ensuite bedrooms. It is a well stocked cottage, suitable for self-catering. Close to many walks in the Kent countryside & of course, wine tasting at Terlingham.
3/ Flint Barns: Rathfinny Wine Estate, West Sussex
Rathfinny Estate in West Sussex is renowed for making English Sparkling Wine. A boutique vineyard set up in 2010, it is now well established as a producer of wine. They run fantastic tours and many events throughout the summer.
Lucky for us, it is also possible to stay overnight in Rathfinny in their Barns, which have been converted into boutique accommodation. Single, double and family rooms are available.
4/ Tinwood Estate, West Sussex


Tinwood Estate is somewhat of a “luxe” winery, in a gorgeous area of West Sussex. I visited on a beautiful summers day and felt that I had been transported to a vineyard in South Africa or Mendoza. It is a stunning estate, growing and producing English sparkling wine.
The estate has boutique wine lodges, offering you the chance to stay overnight in the vineyard. I can imagine that a vacation here would feel like the ultimate romantic winery getaway.
5/ Oxney Organic Estate, East Sussex
Oxney Organic Estate in East Sussex are leaders in producing English wine using organic methods. You can visit for a fun tour with a picnic, or enhance your visit with an overnight stay. They produce still & sparkling wine that you can enjoy as you visit.
Oxney offer a few great packages, such as a mid-week stay with tour & tasting. They have two larger properties, housing groups. Or, my personal choice would be to go for one of the two shepherds huts, perfect for couples looking for a romantic stay in a vineyard with accommodation in the UK.
6/ Tillingham Vineyard, East Sussex
Tilingham, in Peasmarsh East Sussex, is close to the seaside town or Rye and the fantastic beach of Camber Sands. This is one of my favourite areas on the South Coast as there is so much to see and do there.
Tillingham Vineyard is known for making organic and natural wines. Expect hazy, but absolutely delicious and unique wines. It is a great vineyard to visit as it offers a restaurant (which recently won a Michelin Green Star) as well as great tours & tastings.
There are eleven double bedrooms on the vineyard, in a converted barn. All promise a touch of luxury. Tillingham also offer some mid-week deals when you book overnight accommodation. Check out their website for the latest offers.
Tillingham would be my number one pick for a vineyard with accommodation. It has it all!
7/ Denbies Vineyard Hotel, Surrey



Denbies, in Dorking, is the biggest vineyard in England. I ran a 10km run around Denbies, in terrible weather a few years ago, and can confirm that it is indeed a very large vineyard!
You can visit Denbies for a tasting, tours or to dine. But, there’s also a hotel which has its very own restaurants. The hotel is also totally carbon neutral!

Vineyards with accommodation Somerset, Dorset, Devon & Cornwall
8/ Mowbarton Vineyard, Somerset
Mowbarton Vineyard is a 12 acre estate overlooking the Vale of Avalon. Mowbarton produces English sparkling wine. Their amazing claim to fame, is that their wine was served at Glastonbury festival.
The estate offers two types of accommodation in the vineyard. First is a barn, ideal for large groups. Second is an idyllic shepherds hut – perfect for two on a romantic break.
9/ Castlewood Vineyard, Devon
Castlewood Vineyard is located in East Devon. They produce a range of still, sparkling and natural wines.
This year, in June, Castlewood is even hosting a fun festival. Wine makers from around Devon will join to bring you local drinks. There’s also music, food and the chance to camp.
If you can’t make the festival, be sure to check out their vineyard accommodation – they have two traditional stone built cottages. Perfect for groups visiting for tours and tastings at Castlewood.
10/ Kenton Park Estate, Devon
Kenton Park Estate Vineyard was once part of the well known Powderham Castle. It is found close to Exeter in Devon, and is a family run boutique vineyard.
Kenton Park Estate offers a lively atmosphere with events like Friday night cocktails and wine safari tours. They also have accommodation options including luxury glamping.
Kenton Park Estate has so much to offer any guest. And, being so close to Exeter, it’s super easy to get to. It’s a sure fire must visit Vineyard in Devon!
This is my number one pick of all the vineyards with accommodation in Devon – a sure way to have a really fun weekend away.
11/ Old Walls Wine Estate, Devon
Situated in Bishopsteignton, this vineyard provides tours and tastings with spectacular views over the Teign Estuary. They also offer luxurious accommodations on-site.
Old Walls Vineyard makes a variety of still and sparkling wines. The Priory White is made from an interesting grape, the Reichensteiner. They also make some interesting wines with fruit, such as a Elderflower white wine and an elderberry red wine.
12/ Sharpham Wine Estate/ Sandbridge Barton, Devon
Formerly Sharpham Wine, located near Totnes, this vineyard is famous for its award-winning English wines and stunning location on the banks of the River Dart. They offer comprehensive tours and tastings, with accommodation nearby.
Sandbridge Barton Wines has an extensive history, with the first wines being produced in 1980. Over the years, the vineyard has changed and is now in a new location by the River Dart.
It has incredible accommodation that you can stay in for a relaxing getaway. This includes an 1850s boat house, which has to be an incredibly peaceful place to stay.
13/ Swanaford Vineyard, Devon
In Bridford near Dartmoor, Swanaford Vineyard produces small batches of artisan wines, specializing in sparkling and still wines. They offer guided tours by appointment and focus on sustainable wine production.
Swanaford was set up by a couple called Ben and Caroline Goulden who moved to Devon from London in 2013. Since 2017, the couple have been inviting guests in to the vineyard. Today, they run events, such as wellness weekends and more.
They offer three quaint cottages through Airbnb. A chance to unwind & drink wine, in the beautiful Devon countryside.
14/ Polgoon Vineyard, Cornwall
Polgoon Vineyard and Orchard is dedicated to artisanal wine and cider production. Situated on the outskirts of Penzance, Polgoon pushes the boundaries of Cornish viticulture, with its wines showcasing a keen sense of place.
Their dedication to quality and sustainability has not only endeared them to local wine lovers but also to a broader audience through various national wine awards.
Polgoon Vineyard offers a delightful holiday cottage, aptly named “Ortega”. The cottage sleeps up to six people.
15/ Trevibban Mill Vineyard, Cornwall
Just a stone’s throw from the scenic harbor town of Padstow, Trevibban Mill offers a delightful blend of natural beauty and refined wines.
This organic vineyard and winery frequently hosts tastings and tours, providing insights into the organic viticulture that underpins their wine production.Their range of sparkling wines is especially notable for their depth and complexity.
Trevibban Vineyard offers two different vineyard accommodation choices on the site – a wine makers lodge and a cottage.
16/ Little Waddon Vineyard, Dorset
Little Waddon Vineyard is found on the fantastic Jurassic Coast in Dorset. A small vineyard, but prolific when it comes to hosting super fun local events and offering a range of tours & tastings.
The vineyard has, what I think is, the ultimate romantic getaway for two. A shepherds hut, aptly named “The Hide.” It has a wood fired hot tub – need I say more.

Here’s a selection of five vineyards with accommodation across the rest of the UK.
17/ Three Choirs Vineyard, Gloucestershire
Three Choirs Vineyard is one of England’s oldest vineyards, representing the tradition of English wine making. A visit to the vineyard is sure to be an utter treat.
Not only do Three Choirs offer wine tasting & tours, but there is also a brasserie restaurant with delectable lunch & dinner options.
The vineyard accommodation is specially designed with couples in mind. The deluxe rooms have views of the vineyard, whereas the luxury lodges go one step further and are actually found amongst the vines! So close, you can practically lean out of your window to pluck a grape.
18/ Brooks Country House Hotel, Herefordshire




Brooks Country House Hotel is an upscale hotel in the heart of Herefordshire countryside. It offers deluxe rooms, in a large stately house. There’s an outdoor pool, spa, restaurant – and of course, the all important vineyard!
This is a unique offering, as it is a proper hotel, rather than self-catered accommodation. A chance to fully recline and drink wine.
19/ Llanerch Vineyard Hotel, Wales



Llanerch Vineyard Hotel is somewhat of a pioneer in this space, offering a purpose built deluxe hotel in the middle of a working vineyard.
I particularly love that the wine tasting experience is described as “informal”, I can imagine that this is a relaxed but chic place to visit and stay. There’s also a restaurant, serving Welsh food for lunch or supper. Llanerch winery produces a range of still & sparkling wine, including sweet wines. They also make their very own gin!
Guests love this hotel, giving it an amazing 9.6 out of 10 on expedia.com. Llanerch Hotel offers a range of rooms and suites, they even have dog friendly rooms.
Next time I’m in Wales, this will be my number one pick for somewhere to stay.
20/ Ryedale Vineyard, Yorkshire
Ryedale Vineyard is a family run winery, which has won many awards, both for it’s wine and as a tourist attraction. Alongside Dunesford winery, Ryedale also frequently is referred to as the “northernmost vineyard in England.”
Ryedale offers tours and tastings for £18 per person in summer months. If you want to go all out, you can also stay at Ryedale Vineyard in one of their two luxurious rooms.
